Dr. Audrey Paul is a distinguished physician with extensive training in pediatrics and pediatric emergency medicine. Her expertise lies in providing top-notch medical care to children and adolescents. Dr. Paul’s commitment to excellence and her passion for helping young patients have made her a respected figure in the medical community. As the medical director of Blue Wave Pediatrics and Walk-In and Blue Wave Concussion Center in Clearwater, Dr. Paul plays a vital role in offering comprehensive pediatric care and concussion treatment services.

Education & Training

Dr. Paul’s educational background and training have equipped her with the knowledge and skills to deliver exceptional medical care. She earned her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from the prestigious Harvard College. Following her undergraduate studies, she completed her medical and residency training at the renowned Mt. Sinai School of Medicine in New York City.

Dr. Paul’s passion for pediatric care led her to pursue further specialization in pediatric emergency medicine. She completed her fellowship training in this field at Columbia Presbyterian, solidifying her expertise in addressing medical emergencies affecting children. As a double-boarded physician in pediatrics and pediatric emergency medicine, Dr. Paul brings a unique perspective to her practice, ensuring comprehensive care for her patients.

Professional Contributions

Dr. Paul has made significant contributions to the field through her research, lecturing, and involvement in professional organizations. Dr. Paul has conducted extensive research on concussion diagnosis and management, earning her a grant from the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP). This allows her to evaluate the quality of nationwide discharge instructions for pediatric concussion in pediatric and adult emergency departments.

Furthermore, Dr. Paul has shared her knowledge and expertise through numerous lectures to youth sports organizations in the tri-state area. By educating coaches, parents, and young athletes about concussion prevention and management, she promotes safer sports practices and helps raise awareness about this critical issue.

She collaborates with Sports Gait in treating sports concussions with our youth, and she cares for the players of the Tampa Bay Junior’s Hockey Club (an elite training program that combines teamwork with player development – powered by Hockey International’s unique training, developmental, and testing program).

Leadership & Credentials

Dr. Paul served as the past chair of the pediatric emergency medicine section for the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP). Currently, she holds the position of alternate chancellor for the ACEP Pediatric Emergency Medicine Committee, where she continues to contribute to the development of pediatric emergency medicine protocols and guidelines.

Dr. Paul is certified in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS). She is also a credentialed ImPACT® consultant, ensuring she remains at the forefront of concussion diagnosis and management techniques.

Personal Life

When Dr.Paul isn’t busy saving kids in the ER, treating concussions, or working in her pediatric practice, she enjoys ice hockey, football, and baseball. She recently moved down to the Tampa Bay Area with her husband, 2 kids, and 2 goldendoodles. She loves the great weather, amazing sports, and all the wonderful families she gets to meet in Florida. Nesthana’s dedication to staying up-to-date with the latest in pediatric medicine ensures that her young patients receive the best possible care. Her responsibilities include independently caring for patients, conducting complete histories and physicals, collaborating with healthcare professionals, and ensuring quality patient care. Ana’s professional journey has been marked by clinical expertise and an unwavering dedication to pediatric care. She gained invaluable experience caring for critically ill patients as a Clinical ICU Nurse for 7 years before transitioning to a nurse practitioner role.
