Types Of Lab Tests:

  • Basic Metabolic Panel (BMP): A comprehensive blood test that assesses the functioning of vital organs such as the kidneys and liver, evaluates electrolyte levels (sodium, potassium, etc.), and measures blood glucose levels to detect metabolic imbalances.
  • Blood Glucose/Diabetic Panel: This panel includes tests like fasting blood glucose and glucose tolerance tests to evaluate blood sugar levels. It is essential for diagnosing and monitoring diabetes and assessing the effectiveness of diabetic management plans.

Cholesterol Checks (Lipids):

Lipid profile tests measure various types of cholesterol (HDL, LDL) and triglyceride levels in the blood. This helps assess the risk of cardiovascular diseases like heart attacks and strokes and aids in developing preventive strategies and treatments.

Complete Blood Count (CBC):

This common blood test measures red blood cells, white blood cells, hemoglobin, and platelet counts. It helps detect anemia, infections, and blood disorders and provides insights into overall health and immune function.

Comprehensive Metabolic Panel (CMP):

A comprehensive set of blood tests that evaluates kidney and liver function, electrolyte balance, blood glucose, protein levels, and other important indicators. It provides a comprehensive overview of overall metabolic health.

Electrolytes:

Electrolyte tests measure levels of essential minerals (sodium, potassium, calcium, etc.) in the blood. They help evaluate hydration status, kidney function, acid-base balance, and muscle function.

EKG's/ECG (Electrocardiogram):

An EKG/ECG records the electrical activity of the heart, helping identify irregular heart rhythms, heart muscle damage, or other cardiac abnormalities. It is a non-invasive test that aids in diagnosing heart conditions and cardiovascular health.

Fecal Blood Occult:

This test detects hidden blood in stool samples, which may indicate gastrointestinal bleeding, ulcers, or other digestive disorders. It is an important screening tool for identifying underlying gastrointestinal issues.

Flu/Influenza (Rapid and Lab):

Rapid and lab-based tests to diagnose influenza viral infections accurately. These tests determine the presence of influenza viruses, aiding in timely treatment and preventing the spread of the flu.

Glucose Testing for Diabetics (Rapid Finger Stick):

Rapid finger stick tests provide quick results of blood glucose levels, allowing diabetics to monitor their blood sugar levels at home or on the go, ensuring effective diabetes management.

HIV Testing:

HIV tests detect the presence of antibodies or antigens of the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) in the blood. Early detection is crucial for timely intervention, treatment, and prevention of transmission.

  • Lyme’s Disease: Tests for Lyme disease identify the presence of antibodies against Borrelia burgdorferi, the bacteria causing Lyme disease. Early detection is vital for effective treatment and management of this tick-borne illness.
  • Medical Clearance Testing: Medical clearance tests evaluate an individual’s overall health status, assessing risks and ensuring their suitability for surgeries or specific procedures. These tests help identify underlying conditions that may impact the procedure or anesthesia.

Mono/Mononucleosis (Rapid and Lab):

Rapid and lab tests diagnose mononucleosis, a viral infection caused by the Epstein-Barr virus. These tests confirm the presence of antibodies or detect viral particles, aiding in accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment.

PPD (Tuberculin Skin Test):

The PPD test is used to screen for tuberculosis (TB) infection by injecting a small amount of purified protein derivative (PPD) into the skin. It determines the presence of a delayed immune response, indicating exposure to TB bacteria.

Pregnancy Test (Rapid):

Rapid pregnancy tests detect the presence of human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) hormone in urine, indicating pregnancy. They provide quick and reliable results, helping individuals confirm pregnancy in a timely manner.

STD/STI Testing:

Sexually transmitted disease (STD) and sexually transmitted infection (STI) tests screen for various infections, such as chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis, and HIV, aiding in early detection, treatment, and prevention of transmission.

Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) Testing:

RSV testing identifies the presence of respiratory syncytial virus, a common respiratory infection, especially in infants and young children. Early detection helps guide appropriate management and prevent complications.

Strep Throat (Rapid and Lab):

Rapid and lab-based tests determine the presence of Streptococcus bacteria in the throat for prompt diagnosis and appropriate treatment.

Stool Sample/Culture:

Stool sample testing and culture analyze the composition of fecal matter, identifying the presence of bacteria, parasites, or other pathogens. It helps diagnose digestive disorders and infections and assess gastrointestinal health.

Titers for All Immunizations:

Titers measure the levels of antibodies in the blood, confirming immunity after immunizations. These tests ensure individuals are protected against specific diseases, informing the need for booster shots or additional vaccinations.
